True Blues

The past few months have been a whirlwind to say the least. Every season it always is - designing a collection always drains a lot of energy out of me. Over the years I've met many people who ask questions about life as a designer - so this season, I thought there would be no better way then to document the entire seasons process but here in my Designer Diary!

In my designer diary you will be able to follow me through my process of finalizing a collection and preparing for my collection release. I was frantically taking photos of everything - and I'm almost sure that my entire team was getting a little fed up with my staging of 'behind the scenes photos'. In addition to behind the scenes photos, illustrations, and videos - I'll be writing about my inspiration for the collection. Attention to detail is carefully crafted into every aspect of our line from the collection itself to lookbook location and even the menu at our presentation. As always, I will be updating my blog with personal style posts.

For the presentation I held for Alyssa Nicole Fall 2014 I wore this seasons signature pencil skirt which I designed in metallic jacquard. Preparing for a collection presentation requires a lot of effort, so styling myself needed to be effortless and easy so that I could focus on perfecting the entire collection. Styling my skirt with a Gap tshirt was a no brainer because I was running around like crazy behind the scenes before our guests arrived to see the show. I decided early on in the year that my go-to shoe for F/W14 would be a mule- and when I saw these classic leather mules at Saks Fifth Ave. I knew I had to have them.

Tune into my blog to read all about my process and collection this season! xx Alyssa Nicole
